What is geniVida® brand genistein
geniVida genistein is a synthetic form of genistein. It is nature-identical and has the same chemical structure as natural (from soy) genistein. It is non-soy genistein.
Natural Genistein is one of several known isoflavones. Isoflavones, such as genistein and daidzein, are found in a number of plants including lupin, fava beans, soybeans, kudzu, and psoralea being the primary food source, also in the medicinal plant, Flemingia vestita[ and coffee. Besides functioning as antioxidant and anthelmintic, many isoflavones have been shown to interact with animal and human estrogen receptors, causing effects in the body similar to those caused by the hormone estrogen. Isoflavones also produce non-hormonal effects.
The main source of genistein are soybeans. Other legumes, such as chickpeas, contain small amounts of genistein. The main source of genistein is the glucoside genistin. www.genistein.net/ Cached - Similar

Review of health benefit
In spite of an extensive literature on the effects of dietary genistein, questions still exist as to its potential overall benefits as a component of the human diet. Dietary genistein ingestion has been linked, through epidemiological and animal model studies, with a range of potential health effects. These include prevention of breast, colon, and prostate cancers, cardiovascular disease and post-menopausal ailments. Genistein may also be helpful in decreasing bone loss after menopause.

Hot flashes, and menopause
Genistein and other flavonoids do not appear to have a significant effect in reducing the severity of hot flashes, at least not as much as estrogen. http://www.raysahelian.com/genistein.html ==è

Conclusion: It appears that genistein derived naturally from soybeans, (not synthetic) has the ability to do as cited, a good thing. However questions arise challenging the use of synthetic genistein. Why synthesize artificial genistein? Is the synthetic version of genistein compatible with the human body? Are there additives or bi-products that negatively affect the kidneys and other organs? Instead of the synthetic genistein with its unknown additives, simply consume natural soybean extract.

It worked great for me. The hot flashes with this product are greatly reduced, where nothing else did much good that I tried, from prescription to natural.
ReplyDeleteYour comments fuel our efforts – it’s good knowing this info is helpful. Thank you for reading and respinding.
DeleteI have only been on ICool for 7 days and my hot flashes are gone. I also have tried everything on the market, including acupuncture; homeopathy and compound HRT - and the only thing that worked was HRT. My Dr. highly advised me to go off but its summer and didn't want to deal with hot flashes.
ReplyDeleteBut started research again and decided to give ICool one more chance. The first few days I was still taking my HRT along with 30mg. of ICool in am. Took another 30mg of ICool at night -- and after 7 days very, very little heat at night. One article
showed that 54 mg was used in studies that showed positive results. So I think that the recommended dose of 30mg is not enough for some people.
Have had no side effects others are talking about - Another product I was going to try was Macafem - but giving ICool a chance...
Good for you! Since we are NATURAL beings it stands to reason that when there’s a problem – there IS a natural remedy. Only when synthetic treatments are used the natural body is then abused. There is a reason your doctor advised otherwise, you didn’t say - exercise, diet etc. may help also. Thank you for commenting. Continue in Good Health, Naturally!
ReplyDeleteI had severe hot flashes, I would sweat profusely all day and night, dripping constantly. My menopause came from a complete hysterectomy from having ovarian cancer. I had chemo as well. My concern was not having hormone therapy due to the risks, yet dealing with the imbalance. I am also very concerned with bone density loss, chemo does bad things to the marrow. I took I-cool one evening, my night sweats that evening were reduced dramatically. I took another pill in the morning (my bad, I was so excited!) During the day the sweats were 50% less. The second day I took the pill, I barely had any sweats at all. Tonight, I just took another pill, I am writing to you right now....DRY AS A BONE!!! YEA!!!
ReplyDeleteI was recommended this product as helping with my menopause symptoms, I didn't realize the added benefit to my bone density.
As a side note, I don't feel as exhausted and I feel more balanced and not depressed.
I am staying on this for the long haul.
Also, I realize my dramatic results may be from my dramatic situation, my body probably needed severe actions taken immediately. I am doing all I can to get my body back in balance after the "re-boot" it had. I ended my chemo a year ago, I had my surgery a year and a half ago. I want to give perspective as to what a cancer survivor has to deal with in regards to time lines. Hair growing back doesn't mean all is well. I have to rebuild again, this time with no hormones and a weakened immune system. Doctors are afraid to suggest anything like this, they hope you find it on your own, liabilities and all that sort of thing......thank you guys! I continue my search for other forms of help. Noni juice is amazing for my compromised immune system (I didn't hear that from any Dr. either).
Stay healthy, stay alkali!!
