Pray for a cure for cancer, why?

Recently I received a forwarded chain e-mail which infuriated me; mind you I didn’t do chain letters pre-internet. This one got my attention because 1) it was from a dear friend of thirty plus year 2) who has tenure with one of the world’s finest medical facilities; I was a Medical Biller there for a decade. The chain letter was dedicated to those who have died from and are currently fighting cancer. It asked that I please forward “Dear God, I pray for a cure for cancer. Amen” to at least one person.

True, I’ve had loved ones who suffered the atrocities of this once feared disease. But to forward this request asking God for something He did before man was created is ridiculous. There is a cure for every human frailty from AIDS to Zits. No Tears – Not a Good Thing!

Last December while preparing food for a holiday celebration and having chopped several large red onions into mounds of evenly beautifully prepared onions and absolutely no tears. Since then I’ve intentionally cut onions deeply inhaling throughout the process and to date not a tear in sight. What’s up with that?

The produce person at WF had no such questions I was the first. She mentioned that using ice cold water or chopping onions in a very cold room lessens the crying element. Alright, but not applicable the this query.  Lastly, suggesting the possibility of my system's tolerance
was probably at immunity levels. Now that's food for thought.

Benadryl for Children

Take Benadryl to relieve stuffiness in order to get a good night’s sleep, which enables you to be at your best during the day’s activities. The afore-mentioned precautions, seemingly intended for the mature [male] consumer, caught my attention. Recently after speaking with the mother of an active, diagnosed over-active … you know the labels, 5 year-old brilliant little boy, taking Benadryl for the purpose stated.  Granted it is the children’s formula, which is simply a watered-down version of the original and probably artificially flavored. Should the little ones be mindful of glaucoma and prostate problems, while driving or operating machinery? Probably not, but be aware of exactly what that “good night’s sleep” is actually costing.   

The concerns are for all my children, ingesting over the counter chemicals through their rapidly developing brain and little bodies. The short term effects or side effects are listed on the packaging. However what long-term effects will this combination of chemical ingredients have on their adult minds and bodies?

Less than ½ ounce of the “Tonic” eliminated the congestion and excitability while fortifying his immune system, all with no side effects.
